HMD Global has announced the launch of Nokia 8.1 this Monday. Earlier it was launched in Dubai and its other variant Nokia X7 was launched in China in October.

Key Features:

The Nokia 8.1 comes with a price tag of Rs. 26,999 for its sole 4GB RAM/ 64GB inbuilt storage variant.

Color Options: Blue/ Silver and Iron/ Steel colour variants.

Availability: It will be on sale from December 25 through top mobile retailers (including Big C, Croma, MyG, Reliance, and Sangeetha), Amazon India, and the Nokia.com/phones. Pre-bookings has began via retailers and Nokia.com/phones while Amazon India will have a Notify Me page for the launch.

As per the report, there is going to be a launch offer which incldes 1TB of 4G data for Airtel prepaid subscribers on eligible plans starting from Rs. 199, up to 120GB of additional data for Airtel postpaid subscribers on eligible plans starting Rs. 499 alongside a 3-month Netflix subscription and a 1-year Amazon Prime subscription.

Also, users who pre-book the smartphone or select the Notify Me option from Amazon India would enjoy a 6-month screen replacement from Servify.

Also, buyers who are going to purchase the phone from offline retailers will get 10 percent cash back from HDFC Bank on credit and debit card EMI transactions.

Key Features of Nokia 8.1 Smartphone

On the software part, the phone runs on Android 9 Pie.
Display: 6.18-inch full-HD+ (1080×2244 pixels) with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio, 81.5 percent screen-to-body ratio, HDR10 support, 500 nits peak brightness, and is capable of a 96 percent color gamut.

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 2.2GHz octa-core processor with Adreno 616 GPU, along with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM.
For imagining area, the phone has a dual rear camera setup with Zeiss optics, with the primary 12-megapixel camera featuring a 1/2.55-inch sensor, 1.4-micron pixels, OIS, EIS, 2PD (dual photodiode) tech, and a dual-LED flash1/2.55″ Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 1.4μm pixels, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and 13-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture, ZEISS optics. On front side, it has a 20-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The company is touting its Bothie feature, which allows both the front and rear camera to used simultaneously, as well as its Pro Camera UI with various camera options. The dual rear camera setup is used to get portrait shots featuring a bokeh effect.

Storage: 64GB of inbuilt storage with expandable via microSD card (up to 400GB).

Connectivity: 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, VoWiFi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C port.

It also has an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. It is loaded with fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.

On design front it has two-tone design a and is built out of 6000-Series aluminum having diamond cut edges and has been through two anodizing processes as claimed by the company.

Battery: 3,500mAh battery giving 22 hours of talk time, 24 days of standby time, and up to 11 hours of video playback. Also it is going to give18W fast charging.

Weight and Dimensions: 154.8×75.76×7.97mm,  with 178 grams weight.

It also includes a single speaker design, a smart amp, 2 mics, and Nokia Ozo surround capture. HMD Global has also mentioned that Nokia 8.1 has Google ARCore support.
