Check your email

If you have added your email on your Instagram details you will receive an email from Instagram. That will let you know that your email address was changed, you may be able to undo this change by selecting revert this change in that message. If additional information like your password and phone number was also changed, you’re not able to change your email address back. In such a case you can request a login link or security code from Instagram.

Request a login link from Instagram

As soon as you notice your instagram account has been hacked by someone you can request a login link from instagram. With the help of the link you can own your account back. Instagram sends a login link to your email address or phone number.

To request a login link:

Go to the login screen,
Tap Get help logging in if you have Android
Tap on Forgotten password? If you have an iPhone.
Enter the details like username, email address or phone number which is associated with your account, then tap Next.
If Instagram doesn’t allow you to have access to the username, email address or phone number associated with your account, enter the login information that you most recently used, then below the Next button tap Can’t reset your password? and follow the on-screen instructions.
Select either your email address or phone number, then tap Next.
Click the login link in your email or text message (SMS) and follow the on-screen instructions.

Request a security code or support from Instagram

The login link sent by Instagram is also not able to recover your Instagram account then you can request support from Instagram. To request support from Instagram you have to follow the steps given below:

If you have an Android

On the login screen, tap Get help logging in
Enter the username, email address or phone number associated with your account.
Then, tap Need more help?
If you don’t receive a security code, tap I can’t access this email address or phone number below Send security code, then follow the on-screen instructions.

If you have an iPhone

Go to the login link screen on your iPhone.
Select Need more help? below Send login link.
Select either your email address or phone number, then tap Send security code.
If you don’t receive a security code, tap I can’t access this email address or phone number below Send security code, then follow the on-screen instructions.
