Method#1: Check if you’re Blocked
In majority of cases the main cause of receiving this error is due to the other person having blocked you on Facebook. So first and foremost you must look into the matter to find out whether you are being blocked or not? To confirm you need to take the following steps:
- Launch the Messenger application on your mobile and go to the search bar provided at the top.
- Type and enter the name of the person whom you want to contact.
- Now find and select the person’s ID from the search results and tap it.
- Type any text in the conversation box that opens up, and the click “Send”.
- Check if you get to see any message popping up to assure whether you are blocked or not.
Method#2: Check for the Account Status of The Person
Verifying Deactivated Account: If the person whom you are trying to look for has deactivated the Facebook account but not the messenger profile, then you may get to see this error on your screen. To verify whether the person has deactivated his personal account or not, you need to log into the Facebook, go to the search bar and then type in the name of that person. If you cannot find the person’s ID in the search results, it confirms that the account is deactivated.
Verifying Disabled Account: In case where the other person’s account contravenes Terms and Conditions of Facebook due to performing acts such as the promotion of unfair conduct, harassment, mocking, using fake names and so on. Such accounts are likely to get disabled and you see this error message. For confirming the same, repeat the process as above (mentioned for verifying deactivated account).
