Note: This guide will work only in case when you are already logged in to your Gmail or Google account at someplace.
Step#1 Navigate to Google Account Recovery
The first step you need to undertake isto navigate to the Google Account Recovery page. This account recovery page lets you to recover your Google or Gmail account via various methods.
In order to go to Google Account Recovery page, open Google on a PC and then enter a search string “Google recovery” in the search bar.
Now, click on “Google Account Recovery” from the search results or else you can alternatively click on this link https://accounts.google.com/signin/v2/recoveryidentifier and go to the Google account recovery page. Once it is done, continue with the step 2 given below.
Step#2 Enter your email address
Once you landed on the account recovery page, to recover your Google account you first have to enter your email or phone. Here you will get to see different recovery methods including:
- Recovery using the Gmail app,
- Recovery using recovery email, or
- Recovery using your phone number.
Note: As you don’t have any recovery email or active phone number, you need to skip these methods.
So, all you need to do is to just enter your email address or phone numberin the “Email or phone” field and then click on “Next” to jump to the next step.
Step#3 Select “Try another way to sign in”
Once you have entered your email address, you will be routed on the “Try another way to sign in” page.
Here, you will get to see three methods by which you can sign in to your Gmail or Google account. These methods include “Enter your password”, “Get a verification code”, and “Try another way to sign in”.
In case where you don’t have any recovery email linked to your account, it won’t show the “Get a verification code” option. And as you don’t remember your password, the only option left is “Try another way to sign in”.Click it to continue with the recovery process.
Step#4 Click on “Try another way”
Next, you will get redirected on the phone verification method. If you have access to your phone, click on “Yes”. Google will then send a verification code to your phone, which you must enter in the specified field to verify your identity.
But if you didn’t have any phone number linked or else when you don’t have access to your phone, you will not be able to use this method. Thus, you have to click on “Try another way”to proceed.
Step#5 Click on “Try another way” again
Once you make a click on “Try another way”, you will then land on the “Get a verification code” page.
Quite similar to the above step if you have access to your phone, just click on “Send” to send a verification code to your number, enter the verification code to verify your identity. If not then simply click on “Try another way” again.
Step#6 Wait for 48 hours
Having that done, Google will now send you a link to reset your password. All you have to do is to wait and check your email after 48 hours.
Note: You need to be logged in to your Gmail or Google account at someplace or some other device, as the password reset link will be sent to the same email addressthat you are trying to recover.
Step#7 Check your email inbox for the recovery link
Now, after the stipulated time of 48 hours, keep checking to on Gmail on the device you are already logged in and check your inbox.

Step#8 Click on “Get started” to rest your password
