Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, is the upgraded and polished version of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. It is going to be launched in India this week. The new handset brings with it some new features in terms of cameras and display, but there is nothing much in terms of processor and battery.

1. Better display quality

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro has a 6.26-inch full-HD+ IPS LCD full screen display with a resolution of 1080×2280 pixels. Also, the maximum brightness is 500 nits. Aspect ratio is 19:9 with 86 percent screen-to-body ratio along with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. In comparison to the previous version,  the display of Redmi Note 6 Pro’s is slightly larger.

2. Certification from P2i in terms of coating

P2i is popular for its liquid repellent nanotechnology. Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with this certification which means it can withstand all kinds of splashes. However, there is no IP-rating for dust/ water resistance in this version, hence it is advisable to not immerse it in water. The earlier version did not have any such certification.

3. It comes with Four cameras.

There is a major upgrade in the Redmi Note 6 Pro in terms of optics. Yes, you can find dual front cameras for portrait selfies which is uncommon in this range of handsets.

There are four cameras, two at the front and two at the back, which is the first up gradation from the company. Front camera consist of a 20-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor, paired with 4-in-1 super pixel and AI face unlocking functionalities. The back camera consists of a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with Dual Pixel autofocus, 1.4-micron pixels, and AI portrait 2.0.

4. An option of two variants

It is heard that the company is about to launch two variants of the Redmi Note 6 Pro in the Indian market. It will come in both the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage as well as a 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant. The new version is powered by the same 14nm octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, paired with an Adreno 509 GPU. Like the previous version, the new model has a 4,000mAh battery that is claimed to last up to 2 days on a single full charge.

5. MIUI 10 along with gesture-based UI

Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with MIUI 10 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo, out of the box. Users will get a full-screen gesture-based experience and all new user interface. Also, there is a natural sound system along with revamped Clock, Notes, and other system apps. There are also several customizations, proprietary apps, and additional features.

With the above special features,  Redmi Note 6 Pro also contains Security app with functions including a RAM cleaner, security scanner, battery manager, data usage overview, and more. Also, there are various preloaded apps such as Amazon Shopping, Facebook, PhonePe, Netflix, NewsPoint, Dailyhunt, Opera News, Opera Mini, BHIM ABPB, and ShareChat.

Currently, there is no update regarding the Android 9.0 Pie to be added in the handset.
