1. Clean iPhone’s Touchscreen

The first thing you should do with your iPhone when screen moves on its own is, clean the device’s touchscreen. Sometimes little debris or moisture can cause these problem.

To clean your iPhone’s screen, first unplug it from any cable or charger. Now, take a soft and clean cloth (lint free cloth), dampen it with warm water and wipe your touchscreen gently.

Make sure that moisture don’t get into any openings. You can also use Apple’s Polishing/Cleaning cloth to do this.

2. Remove Screen Protector

Sometimes debris or air between your touchscreen and screen protector could also cause ghost touch issue on iPhone. If cleaning doesn’t fix your problem, you should try taking off the screen protector and see if your problem is gone or not.

In case your protector gets cracked or damaged, remember to remove it very carefully as it can leave scratches on screen or leave a crack on glass or you might cut yourself.

3. Remove iPhone’s Case

If you have a hard case protecting your iPhone and have dropped the device, there are chances the hard case has got twisted. This could also cause a ghost touch because a slightly twisted screen could also move on its own.

4. Restart Your iPhone

Well, we all have learnt that giving any device a quick reboot might fix many problems! So, there is nothing wrong in restarting your iPhone. Restarting the device could also fix the ghost touch issue by clearing your device’s temporary memory.

5. Update iOS

Updating the device could be a great idea because if a software bug is causing the ghost touch, it might have been fixed by Apple in the most recent update.

You can update your device by heading to Settings > General > Software Update and Tap Download and Install or Install.

6. Do a Factory Reset

If you’re still facing the problem even after restarting the device and updating it, the next thing you can try is performing a factory reset.
