There has been a lot of rumours that these changes are coming, But Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that NFTs are coming to Instagram. Last year, Instagram’s lead Adam Mosseri said the team has been “actively exploring NFTs”, but they have no announcements to share yet.
The information is that, Teams at Facebook and Instagram are working on features to let you use an NFT as a profile, such as minting NFTs on the platform and creating a marketplace for trading them. With little information, it is not yet clear what minting an NFT on Instagram would be. It could mean you sell a popular post as an NFT, perhaps? Or mint NFTs that act as passes to let people see specific stories?.
